These neutral density filters use optical glass to transmit light consistently across the entire visual spectrum. Anti-reflection coatings having been applied on both sides of the filters.

They are ideal for reducing glare when observing the Moon with various size telescopes and under different magnifications, thus significantly increasing the level of detail. The filters may also be used to split close double stars where one of the binary pair is significantly brighter than its companion.

The Opticstar 1.25” Moon filters feature a 13% and 25% light transmission respectively and are mounted in an aluminium cell that is threaded for filters.
