The 4-element Abbe eyepiece was invented by Ernst Abbe and is called "orthoscopic" because of its very low degree of distortion. Orthos have nearly perfect image quality and good eye relief, as such they are ideal for planetary use.

These Super Abbe eyepieces offer improved performance when compared to standard Abbe designs presenting unmatched value for money and excellent planetary performance.

Optical design: convex-convex triplet field lens and a convex-flat singlet eye lens.
