Outline
|
The Opticstar AR80 refractor is ideal as a portable scope and can be used for observing,
imaging or as a guider. It features a retractable metal dew shield, fully
multi-coated optics, 1.25" all-metal rack & pinion focuser and comes complete
with tube rings and quality padded case. A T-thread at the drawtube end will
enable you to attach a camera directly to the scope.

The Opticstar AR80 refractor uses an 80mm achromatic doublet that is fully multicoated
for maximum light transmission. The optical tube greatly benefits from knife-edge
baffles that prevent light which has bypassed the optical system or which is
outside the field of view from reaching the focal plane thus increasing image
contrast.
With a focal length of 600mm (f/7.5) the AR80 refractor is well suited
for wide field astrophotography, guiding, as well as nature photography.
With a minimum total length of only 49.5cm the Opticstar AR80 is well suited as a travel scope.

Optional Collimating Rings
|
A pair of collimating rings are available as an option. These rings have 98mm
of clear internal aperture. Also included with the rings are a 20cm long dovetail
and two supports as illustrated.

|
The AR80 can be mounted on top of SCT telescopes with the Farpoint mounting rings,
dovetail accessory adapters and dovetail plates as shown below.
