Outline
RPF6 is a motorized filter wheel, which has six different holders for filters of 1¼". It has been designed to be driven directly from ViSTA, the software that controls the cameras, but it is also supplied with a separate control program for all versions of Windows. There are two types of connections:
  • RS232 serial port.
  • Parallel port.
It is possible to set the rotation speed and a different stop position for each filter. The motor hold current is user adjustable. This product can be customized, specifying different size, number of filters, input or output adapters. Typical applications include:
  • Photometry.
  • Microscopy.
  • Colour sequences.
The filter wheel determines its position by an optic feedback, one per each filter and zero position.

Filter Mounting
There are two ways of mounting 1" and 1.25" filters:
  • If the filter is Celestron compliant (28.4x40 screw threads per inch), the filter can be direclty screwed in the hole.
  • If the filter is not Celestron compliant, the filter needs to be supported as shown in the image. The filter is glued on the support with silicon based glue and the support is screwed on the hole. Using glue still makes it possible for the user to remove the filter by hand. This only requires moderate force. Therefore the process is reversible. The image shows the dimensions that the filter should have. The clear aperture is 28.02mm.
